After gaining his MSc and PhD at the JKMRC, Geoff was employed at WMC's Kambalda Nickel Operations as Technical Services Superintendent. From there he joined AMDEL Ltd as Mineral Process Control Engineer, followed by positions with Honeywell Pty Ltd as Senior Applications Engineer, Mineral Control Instrumentation Pty Ltd as Marketing Director and Mine Remediation Services Pty Ltd as Chief Executive Officer. This 25 years experience in the minerals industry was followed by CEO roles in agricultural and fuel distribution technology companies.
In 2004, Geoff was appointed as Managing Director of JKTech Pty Ltd and in 2010 Geoff was appointed as Director of the JKMRC.
Geoff's principal skills and experience can be summarised as:
- Executive management and business development experience in Australia and overseas
- Experience as a Director of a listed company as well as other companies in Australia , USA and UK
- Extensive minerals industry experience (both metalliferous and coal) particularly in the areas of on-line process instrumentation and automatic control
- Founding Director of AUSTMINE, an Austrade supported initiative aimed at increasing Australia's exports of mining equipment, services and technology
- Winner of Austrade's Individual Achievement in Export Award in 1989 for export equipment sales into the coal industries in India and Thailand
- Wide range of experience in commercialising innovative technologies.
